Hi all! Please can someone reassure me...

I had my hair cut yesterday, quite short like a pixie (I am female). It was shortish anyway, but after I had it cut I got home and I washed it and blow dried it. Later in the day I was mucking about with it, brushing it and stuff, and I noticed that little strands were still coming out. Also, today I dyed my hair, and when scrubbing some dye off the back of my neck I noticed a little strand again. It is like teeny bits are breaking off. Does this kind of thing happen to everyone, and is it possible that the bits of hair are just leftovers from my actual haircut?

I am such a worrier, and I hate worrying that I am damaging my body. I prob should not have dyed it today but I have greys. I don't use straightners anymore (not used for about 6 months) and even though wash and dry everyday I use the 2nd heat setting and 2nd speed setting with heat protection spray.

It sounds like bits that were cut off during your haircut! If you have short hair its easy for them to get mixed in to your other hair.

if they thinned out your hair with one of those sheers and didnt brush it out after that could be it....

Don't wash your hair everyday. you need to let you natural oils run though the hair every so often. sounds like its just left over hair from cut. so like it was probally textured which means lose hair will till come out. if it carries on go back to hairdressers.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Sounds like you take pretty good care of your hair and I don't think the cut or the color caused your hair to fall out. Everyone loses hair. It's natural. Your body sheds hair just like any other animal. At certain times of the year it gets worse than at other times of the year. Just keep caring for your hair the way you have been and it will be fine.

no it is not normal. it is either it is leftovers from the haircut,or your hair is falling out.

First of all I want to say that it probably has nothing to with the dying of your hair since it started before hand. I am pretty sure this has never happen to me before, I really don't pay attention. But it could possibly be just the way the stylist cut you hair maybe they cut layers (I'm not sure what a pixie is?) and when they do this they grab your hair and pull it straight up to cut. If this is the case then I can definitely see the hair falling back on the head. But did she blow dry? Look at the hair does the strand look like it was cut or was it in the scalp when it came out? try deep conditioning your ends with an intensive conditioner like herbal essence intensive treatment (it works for me)
