My little sister got her hair cut and she hates it?

My 9 year old sister gets wild tangles in her hair and a lot of times they get so bad that we have to cut them out. Well today my mom cut my sister's hair and she made it just a little higher then her shoulders although my sister only wanted a small trim (she wants her hair to go to her butt). She wont stop crying! She keeps saying how her friends wont like her anymore and how she will be the biggest nerd in school! I personnaly think its really cute but she hates it! How can i get her to stop crying and what are some styles i can teach her so she likes her hair the least bit? (we cant go to a pro. hair cutter).

children can be a little naive when it comes to fitting in and impressing people.

You need to assure her that she looks beautiful. When she walks in the room (and encourage people to do it) just say to her wow your hair looks stunning or something like that. Im not very good at suggesting hair styles however i can suggest that perhaps you should go out and buy her some fancy hairclips or ribbons and try and do a style yourself. Maybe some twists. The more you assure and encourage her the more she will feel better and she will be back to her normal self enjoying her new hairstyle.

By tomorrow, she won't care anymore, and hair grows back.

Hmm, well you can tell her that first off friends aren't going to care what she looks like, it's what's on the inside that counts. How old is she? Definitly remind her of how good it always looks. Maybe help her find a cute way to style it. Go to the store and by some cute clips and headbands. Over time she'll get use to it. Everybody gets those crappy hair cuts once and a while.

Put her hair up in a cute ponytail or bun or braid or something and show her it's better then just having it down and tangly. I think she'll get used to it after a while, it's only the initial shock that is making her a bit sad.

If her hair is at least cut evenly,it will be okay and it will longer by the time school starts. How about a head band or a little pony tail or use some cute hair clips.

i would question the hair products you use. I know this seems odd coming from a guy but i really did have rather long hair. When it started growing out it would tangle and fluff horribly. In ways that took hours to fix. I learned from my hair stylist that its best to get the proper hair products. I also learned that with long hair washing it every day is actually bad for it.

Go to a barbershop and ask them what to get. Sure they will push for a haircut but be strongwilled. I never styled my hair up in any way, i would only put it back in a simple pony tail when i was working with machinery or near flame. i wish you the best there.

I learned a lot of hair secrets from lady friends i know. I would ask them about how to do cutesy hair styles. especially the ones with good looking hair :P

Good luck,

Silence

Try taking a blow dryer or straightner and flipping the tips of her hair out , this is a really cute hair do.

Tell her it'll grow back, you can put in that cute 60's style with the high pony tail and slightly teasing the crown of the hair, but I 'm not so sure she'd like it. You also can pin it back at the front of the hair. OOOOR you can straighten it every other day(that would be so pretty!)kids at school would think think that's cool. But be sure to use protective gel or mousse on her hair to keep it from getting damaged!Good luck! Oh, and tell her she should brush her hair more often to prevent hair cutting tangles! LOL

Sounds like she has the making of a seriously cute bob style. Get a curling iron and lightly turn the ends under to give it a nice polished look. Make her feel extra special by using a light transparent sparkly powder on her face or use one of your lip glosses on her, anything from an older sis will help her feel better about the change. During the grow out stages be sure she is using a conditioner to help with the tangles to keep mom from chopping it all off again. Also, you could tell her about how all the super models change their hairstyles every month, what the heck, it grows back!

nobody told your mom to jack up her hair!!!!!!!!!! poor kid.....just now just give her a pony tail....or do two twisties on the top.....like the greasers do thier hair........she love it.......

My little sister got her hair cut and she hates it?

well you can tell her that her friends wont think any diffrent about her / and you can still curl her hair and put it up and hair will grow fast she is still young just give her time she will get better about her hair

I feel sorry for her.

If she wants her hair long, I suggest that she check out http://longhaircommunity.com . I love the site, and she'll learn a lot about keeping the tangles at bay. She'll only be able to lurk, but I think she'll be able to reach her goal.

Don't just say that hair will grow back. It takes a lot of patience to grow out your hair. What takes a few min. to get rid of takes YEARS to get back.

As her sister, I suggest that you support her and help her achive her hair goal. You're encouragement will help her a lot.

tell her her hair will grow back very fast, help her learn new ways of fixing it.
