I am a prof. hairstylist for many years now. If you are going to color it , do it first. That way the stylist will know how much to suggest cutting off. Better yet, have her do the whole job for you. It is more expensive, but not if you screw it up yourself and have to go in and get it fixed and get yet more hair cut off in the process. Just a suggestion.

You've a georgous colour, I'd stick with that. Maybe get a feather cut all over, graduated along the face, then it'll still have length, but there's a style there if you have the know how to straighten for nights out and it should be long enough to tie back as well.

A side sweeping fringe would be good on you, where the split is taken from a little further over and the fringe sweeps down. Nice! Good Luck. Nic

So if you have oval love it and wear what you like. As far as the long oval try a cut that will frame starting at your lower cheek. Try a long layer bob. Maybe put some big curls when styling.

braiding increases the tension of your hair pulling it from the root. so in ways, it does grow faster but you also lose more hair keeping braids in (we shed at least 100 hairs a day). you also will increase the risk of receding hairline over time if you braid it often.....fyi the question seems like you are saying you left your braids in for six months lol

Bob's are really cute and in at the moments, so you're lucky!

Have you tried getting your fringe and clipping it back? From theedge of your temple, to the other side, pulling it tightly back and clipping. There are variations on this, you can clip to the side or back comb it slightly and clip it back loosely, giving you a slight quiff.

If it's long enough, you can give yourself cute low down pig tails. Or, for a more up to date version, give yourself one pig tail, under one ear, scraping as much hair as you can into it.

Chunky head bands also look great with a bob. Use a retro scarf, or even the elastic waist band cut from a pair of tights!

You could gather the top section of your hair and loosely tie it back, in a kind of high up pony tail, leaving the bottom area down.

You could give your hair more movement and body by having layers cut in to it. Get it looking a bit shaggy around your face. This way, you can scrunch dry it and it'll look 80's, or straighten it and it'll look cutting edge and modern.

I think this would look really good on you, and the angles would create the illusion of an oval face. =) Don't dye your hair blond, because with a pretty cut like that, you don't want damaged hair, because you can't hide it as well.

But if thats not your thing you can always look at a magazine titled "Hairstyles" it has many styles from like celebrities to models and stuff. Id go for a shoulder length cut with shaping around the face so you get a shorter length at the front again with a side fringe.

By all means get layers to add shape and body but make sure you get the right type for your hair.

If your hair is fine make sure you ask for blunt cut layers as thinning out the hair more will only make it appear unhealth and frizzy.

Thick hair may require choppy layers to thin it out and give it a softer look.

let me tell you, i absolutely love your hair straight! it's a wonderful cut!!! but if you wanna change it up a little you can get very choppy angles and long layers, side bangs. but that would require alo of striaghtening, cause i don't know how it would looks curly. but best of luck :)

my hair was just as long as your but then last week i just decided to chop off 5 inches its to a little above my shoulders and i have side bangs so i just got those trimed. my hair use to have wavy/curly hair but now it is a cute look because it flips out in 3 different layers and i have gotten so many compliments from everybody even guys at my school!! I really like it and my hair is a blondish brown...i love my new cut! That's what i would recommend.

since you have a round face, you shouldnt get it cut too short . . that will only make it rounder.

If you have extreme pimples and or an oily face, don't get bangs. The bangs will get really greasy, really fast and cause more pimples on your forehead.

Since you have short hair, have you ever considered growing it longer? If I were you a would just get the damaged ends trimmed tomorrow and grow your hair to bra stap length.

Well, getting your hair done is a huge step. I say do a drastic change in the length of your long brown hair. You should go for a classic look, cut your hair up to about your ear length. Don't wash your hair for about 5 to 5 and a half weeks. This will bring out the natural oils. Your wavy hairy will benefit from it.

I have long hair, more than halfway down my back, and it is blackish brown...in the light it looks brown. I've been growing my hair for years. My mum is constantly having a go at me for my hair, because I either have it up in a ponytail, or down, straight or scrunched. just so i can put it out there i have the same color hair as you, it looks black but its a really dark brown but in the light it has so a pretty brown red color. so if you do want to get your hair colored, the color you hair is in the light is the color you want. talk to the hair dresser doing your hair to talk more about the colors.

Funny you should ask! About 2 weeks ago (I had hair 3/4 down my back) I went into a salon looked in their book and said cut it off. Haven't regretted it yet. Real short on you would be good if your hair is wavy. I am not so lucky.

my hair is really puffy too- try asking the hairdresser to take some of the volume off- they can use thinning sheers. also ask him/her to cut vertical layers so your wavy hair is subtle. ask for his/her recommendations on styling products that will keep the frizz/poof down.

i recently discovered a new product that works really well on decreasing the poof- John Frieda Volume Reducer- try it!

Never go from one extreme to another or you will be sorry. If you really want to grow your hair long keep it trimmed every six to eight weeks and that way you can keep the split ends off but the hair will still grow. To give up now would be ashame because it sounds like the hard inbetween stage is already past. I have always found a trim can make a world of difference. So think about this before cutting it all off then being sorry later.

Pay attention to your face shape. The new haircuts that I have noticed lately, with a bob ending at the chin, make a lot of people look like they have moon faces...not attractive.

Look through magazines of hair styles to get an idea of what you might like, and then ask your stylist if they will work with your hair texture and thickness. Don't go too short, you can always work your way up to a shorter length over time, but you can't add back hair if you get a shorter haircut that looks like a disaster.

The stylists at Supercuts went to the same school as the stylists at Pierres or Donatellas, or whatever....I think the only thing you should spend a little more on is color, and that's only because they have slightly better products, not necessarily people.

they had to have their hair nearly all shaved off because it was so matted or because of skin allergies and fungus.

I got a puppy cut for mine. the groomers clipper was set to #4 and it turned out really good. short but not shaved and really cute. go to your groomers and ask their oppinion. My groomer showed me the lengths of the clipper #'s. that how i came upon the #4 cut for mine.

The best thing for you to do to avoid a shave down is to get your dogs what most groomers call a "puppy cut". This is when they shorten the hair to what they looked like as a puppy. It's really a cute haircut. Then you should bring your dogs to the groomer every 4-6 weeks for grooming to ensure they fluffy "puppy cut" can be maintained. Brushing at home is always encouraged.
