Getting my hair cut need advice?

I'm getting my hair cut and I don't know crap about hair.I've been growing it out since december,and its down to my shoulders in the back,my chin on the sides,and just above the tip of my nose in the front.I like it long and straight with the kinda skate punkish look,but my hair is really wavy and right now its just way too thick.No matter what I do with it it always ends up a puffy afro 4 hours into the day.I guess what I'm saying is I need to know what to ask for when I get it cut and how I can get it to act the way I want.like what to do with it in the morning, shampoos whatever.Here is a link http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf...

my hair is really puffy too- try asking the hairdresser to take some of the volume off- they can use thinning sheers. also ask him/her to cut vertical layers so your wavy hair is subtle. ask for his/her recommendations on styling products that will keep the frizz/poof down.

You need to ask them to give you the skater look but also make sure to tell them you want layers to take away some of the heavy thick look. Also, after you wash it try not to run your fingers through it or it will cause it to look poofy.

Well, look at pics of celebs you like. For Example Leonardo DiCaprio has GREAT hair. Choose one you like and ask the salon lady to tell you which shampoo is best for your hair texture. Also, you can ask to get it thined out a little bit w/ that little razor thing they have. Good luck! :)

I know all about puffy thick hair. Trust me. What you need to do is ask them "to thin it out" for you (its hair lingo, they'll get it) and ask them for something "punk but low maintenance" I cant see your photo because I don't have a myspace. If you can't afford to go to a hair salon then go to the next best thing-a great clips. It'd be far more risky to cut your own hair or two have someone without a cutting license to do it.

As them to trim and thin your hair for you. Also, the skate punkish look isn't all that cute to be honest. Sometimes it just looks trashy.
