I used to have hair past my butt.

But now I've got it below my breast, layer + front fringe which can also be swept to the side.

But seeing as its all one length you shouldnt do something to big to yr hair.

Start off with it to yr shoulders or something.

Then when you get used to that get a fringe.

Just keep adding stuff rather than get it done in one, cause you might not like it in the end.

Okay. Get it cut to the elbows, or a little shorter. Then get face frame and layers. Make the layers about half an inch apart.

If your a little shaky on the bangs like i am, you don't have to get them. You can make the face frames bangs as short or long as you want it. Mine are around my lips. Kinda like the picture without the bangs, if that helps discribe. Layers just make it more full looking.

I'm getting my hair cut on Saturday and I was wondering if you had any cute layered ideas that I could try out (low mantinence) I have a pale face, freckles and long, wavy hair (dark brown) oval hair aswell. I like the pointy layers.

I don't actually know how having freckles or light skin helps me decide how you shuold do your hair...

but since your hair is wavy, go for lots of rasor layers. They'll keep your waves but it'll help you avoid a 'pyramid' of hair. I don't have a specific cut that I do, I just get them to do lots of rasor layers (since I have super thick hair). I love it. With my hair layered it doesn't go so puffy (it used to be wild when my hair was cut all the same length). It's fairly low maintence, I just wash it, if I want to look good I flat iron it.

my hair is really puffy too- try asking the hairdresser to take some of the volume off- they can use thinning sheers. also ask him/her to cut vertical layers so your wavy hair is subtle. ask for his/her recommendations on styling products that will keep the frizz/poof down.

i recently discovered a new product that works really well on decreasing the poof- John Frieda Volume Reducer- try it!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches) (Dont cut)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed. I promise.

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

My hair is currently very simple and rather boring if you ask me. It's down to my hips, and straight cut with bangs down to my neck and it's natural color: a darker variety of dirty blonde. It's been like that for years, and I want to do something different with it, but I can't decide what. I want a medium cut style with longer bangs, but I haven't had much luck finding an ideal look that would suit a rounder face.

Why don't you put light to medium blond highlights in your hair to lighten it for the summer and as far as the cut goes, a couple inches past your shoulders, with layers, parted to the side would probably look best with a round face. Good luck!

Ask your stylist once you get there. That's always the best and smartest thing to do. Choppy layers are good, but not too many chops. I suggest layers that frame the face if you have a round / oval / heart face. If you have a long face, choppy layers are good- and all layers work well with straight hair.

I think this hairstyle is beautiful, but it may not be so great depending on your face shape.

First of all, you would need to go to a salon and have your hair professionally relaxed. Also while you're there, throw in some layers like the model's. Try printing that picture out and tell your hair stylist that that's the cut you want. Also, if you want your hair to look exactly like this than you could have it dyed black.

Then, be sure to use shampoos and conditioners made especially for straight hair and ones that are for shine. Also try some hair solutions that are for keeping hair styled straight. Blow dry your hair using a round brush and make sure it's completely dry or else your hair will return to it's natural wavyness (if it's still a little wavy). You might also want to try a hair moisturizer to prevent your hair from becoming dry and damaged.

After that, get a good, ceramic flat iron and straighten yorur hair. If you buy a flat iron from a salon than you will most likely get your moneys worth, as they are expensive. However, I do have a good flat iron that I got from Wal-Mart for $20. It's ceramic, and heats to 375 degrees. The brand is Andis.

i want to get a pertty haircut for school but i dont know what to get

i have light brown hair. it is pertty thick, but its not corse or anything. its mostly one length except at the very front.

its about 1/2 an inch longer than my arm pit. all i have right now is a plain cut and i always wear it behind my ears becuase if i dont i think it looks to thick. it lands on my shoulder and makes my hair look like a triangle. i never wear it up because ever since i was little i had short hair (not anymore) so i have never worn it up and i would feel werid to wear it up (i would feel like people were looking at me becuase i would look differnt, it usually gets kind of frizzy but i think i finally found out a way to help control the frizz (further testing of this method is needed, i need to find out if this product did it or if i just had a good hair day) i dont know if i want layers. one time i went and asked for layers but they said it would look choppy if i didnt spend alot oftimeonit

Maybe get some heavy layers(even in the back). If its really thick, then layers will help thin it out, or you could just ask the hair dressure to thin it. Then get EITHER highlight or lowlights. Not both...trust me, I tryed blonde and brown at the same time before. Or maybe you could get some dark maroon highligts. Those usually look good in brown hair. But make it look natural looking though. Then you could straighten your hair when it gets frizzy, but just make sure to use lots of conditioner. Leaving conditioner in for a while then rinsing it out under cold water helps keep it moist and shiny.

When you go to the hair dressure, they ususally use this product on your hair that makes it feel really nice and fluffy. Ask them what it is then buy it.

lots of layers is good for thick hair. sometimes choppy is good. ask them to layer it with a razor it will look good....i had it done and I loved it. try it i bet yu would like the way is feels and looks.

I really think a straight-across cut bangs can look GREAT! It can look really cutesy and trendy at the same time, I know I know it's a lot of maintenance (when sideswepts get long, you just tuck it behind your ear...you can't do that with straight-across, though my friends just learn how to trim their own bangs):

I think gold highlights (especially REALLY light blonde ones) are a little tacky now, you can give them back to the 90's. I would go with either lightening your hair slightly in different places.) I like hair natural but I know the right colours can make it even better. If your hair is brown then sometimes warms (reddish auburns) look good throughout...you can ask your stylist about this, because sometimes this depends on your skin tone (are you pinkish, bluish, etc.)

I know how you feel i have the sidesweep bangs too. i suggest you go dark brown and put light brown highlights in it. Tell the salonist you want the sidebangs thinned out. This will help because the'll fallback alot more and not be in your face and if they still are maybe you should put some brown bobby clips in your hair That way thell blend in with you hair then take you pins and pin them back it will be so cute

Well.. I have thin hair but it doesnt grow that long, after a certain point it stops! ;) I have had extensions before and the way I had them done was very inexpensive. My mom has had short extention (used just to make her hair thicker) for a few years now, she spends about 300 a month! I spend, when I have them about 30.00.

If you are any race except black we automaticaly think we cannot get our hair done like that culture. So like my mom..she goes and is charged 300 a month (does not listen to me, lol says she loves her hair dresser) and they get ripped off. People say if you have extentions done through "like culture places" they have "different hair" and it will be to rough and make us bald. Its all a lie!

I have thin...thin hair, always have. I go to "african american" salons. They do the best job, they know how do do it much better anyway! And...they charge about 10-15 dollars a track. You will need about 3 tracks for a full head of hair. Go to Sallys beuty salon and buy synthetic/natural hair. It costs about 20. They will help you in there match your color. You can straighten it, curl it....wash, blow dry, whatever you want. Thats another thing these other places say you have to have 100% human hair imported from like Italy... so dumb! You have to replace the hair every few months so why spend 300-600 dollars on hair that will do everything that a pack for 20.00 will do. Hope I didnt confuse you... You will have to have them tighten your tracks every 3-4 weeks and replace the hair every few months. It will take time to get used to them. My hair never fell out or was damaged... they just itch sometimes and you learn to be a little more gentle when you brush. Your hair grows faster with them in for some reason?

Although hair weaves tend to look ok on thicker hair, I don't recommend them because despite what anybody says... weaves that come from Sally's look like, well, weaves from Sally's. If you really want to spend the money, go to some place up scale and have them do it right. You'll want the weave that is sewn on to a few individual pieces at a time as opposed to getting one big track glued to your scalp.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I bet your hair looks great. Try looking up some different styles that you can do with your new length and take some time to just play with it. It will grow again ;)

I wouldnt waste the time or money on extensions... If you get the cheap ones they can be very damaging to your hair. If you get the good ones it could cost you up to $2000.00. If your hair is too poofy for you while its at the length its at, I would maybe add some layers and thin it out. All it would do is remove bulk from your hair and make it lay a lot nicer.... that way you can live with it until it grows back out. Hope I helped

If you think that you have had a bad hair cut, find a reputable hairdresser and get a trim. Make sure to tell them for a trim!!!, Change your shampoo every 6 months, give yourself a treatment, try making this at home, some Mayonnaise, warm olive oil, and 2 avocado's. No, as long as you care for it properly it will return eventually to it's normal thickness and length. Just keep your split ends clipped and no more thinning. It's true that thick hair can be heavy and dull but too much thinning can look equally as bad.

We experimented with several styles and stylists before we discovered one that works pretty well. First off, tell the stylist you have cowlicksand where they are located (if possible). My husband actually has a double cowlick where two cowlicks meet. Next, don't let them cut it too short on top. Your son will need the length to weigh down the cowlick. A cut where it's longer on top and shaved in the back will pass for clean cut. Check the men's magazines and find one where the top is longer and bring it in to show the stylist. My husband found a Dolce and Gabbana ad that he carries in his wallet. So far so good!

I would get some swooping bangs with the shortest piece starting at your cheek bones. Then get some face framing too so when you pull it back you can leave some other pieces down. It makes for a cute look.

Thick hair tends to be a bit puffy when cut into a bob. If done right it will be nice though! Just make sure you are going to someone who is really good with short hair cuts. It seems to be a thing that not everyone can master as a haidresser. I've gotten some bad ones, such as the one I just received. Any how take a picture with you of what you would like to have for a cut, that helps out a lot!

Hmmm...if you have a lot of trouble straightning it, maybe you should consider a chemical relaxer. It will make it naturally straight and make it much more managable. Or you could try embracing your texture and maybe go for a perm! There are lots of different types these days, and can look really cute! It will also help with wearing your hair down.

As for cuts, ask your hair stylist to thin your hair. They take a razor and cut with your hair to take down the poufiness. I think you would be really happy with that :). Also ask for a cut with lots of layers. Ask her to make layers in the back, and around your face. That will really help to flatter your face and its very cute, no matter what length you decide to cut it. Hope this helps! :)

I think your worrying to much about your how your hair will look after cutting it...but every girl does if they haven't cut it in a while. (btw, next time include a picture). I think if you do something that is in your opinion, you'll end up looking just fine...and if you have a family member to cut your hair, they'll do it just how you want it (unlike hairdressers)

It makes my hair look awesome...if I were you, I would get your shortest layer between your chin and shoulder or at your shoulder and go from there. Maybe not died but I like the style. It's cute :3 Just make sure it's what you really want before dying your hair or you may end up coloring your hair way too much. It you color it keep like a little piece in a plastic bag incase you decide to switch back to that color later. I love the style itself though and I tihnk it would look good on you.

Well if you got it cut at a Salon or Barber shop then I would go back and see about a refund. If a family friend; mom; girlfriend etc cut it then obviously you can't go after them for a refund. If you really hate it then the way to solve your problem would be a buzz cut. It'll be short for a while but buzz cuts usually look decent on a guy and your hair will grow back in no time.

If you get the short, choppy, shaggy look. It isn't that hard to style.

Just straighten.

Apply hair wax (not the type that rips your hair out).

Garnier Fructis have one called "Surfers Gel". Its great.

Flick out bits of hair, twist some, push hair one way and the other. Make it messy, yet neat.

Give it a good hairspraying too.

You can always tease/backcomb as well.

You could try extensions otherwise maybe go back to the salon and ask them if they have any ideas on how to make the hairstyle work for you in the meantime - it may take a bit to get used to it. They may also have some tips eg. products or using bobby pins,just styling the new cut in a different way. there's many proucts u can use to give volume. try a root lifter and blow upside down then bump ends w/ a curling iron. also, highlight w/ foils just around face...it'll create illusion of longer hair... sorry but you really get what you pay for... DEFINATELY complain ...atleast they'll offer up the products to maintain until you grow out! good luck... sincerely.

You can go back and talk to them. Maybe have a solution for it ready yourself, so that you can suggest it to them if they do not come up with anything. They probably will say that the hair is too short now, but maybe you can get a free treatment out of it, like colouring or hair mask.

there's nothing much that can be done, especially if you go back to the same salon.. don't waste your breath.. i suggest going to a more reputable hair salon or a hairstylist you trust, to ask for a second opinion on what can be done.. there are so many things that be done these days to remedy a bad haircut.. maybe you get some waves or straighten your hair, get extensions, highlight it to give it more dimensions, get a different hairstyle, or learn how to style your hair in a way that makes it look better.. you need expert opinion.. what have you got to lose, if you don't like what you hear, you don't have to get anything done..
